Find Your Landmark
Meet the therapist,
Christopher Jeffrey, LCSW
I completed my undergraduate studies at Fontbonne University of Clayton, Missouri and finished my graduate degree in social work from University of Missouri – St. Louis. I have been actively practicing social work for more than a decade now. I still work actively in a healthcare organization. I utilize techniques from several evidence-based psychotherapy modalities and specialize in trauma therapy. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) which is the internationally recognized and supported therapy modality for the treatment of Post-Truamatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). My style of therapy focuses on open dialogue; effective therapy requires a foundation of trust. The therapeutic alliance between client and therapist is a relationship in its core context and all healthy relationships require trust. It is sincerely an honor and a privilege to do this work and to have the opportunity to get to know you!

Insight
The ability to “see through the fog” of one’s own thoughts and beliefs. Just as a person navigating through dense fog might suddenly gain clarity when they find a landmark, cognitive insight is the moment when someone recognizes that their thinking has been distorted or unhelpful. It’s the mental clarity that allows a person to step outside their usual thought patterns and see them for what they are—potentially flawed or biased interpretations of reality. This insight helps in recognizing the difference between thoughts and facts, much like clearing the fog allows one to see the true landscape.
In therapy, cognitive insight often leads to a shift in perspective, opening the way for healthier and more balanced thinking.
